After the first week at the new prep school her mom had her attend without her best friends, Marina had gone from a normally bubbly, sweet talkative girl to a girl who would barely say two words to her mom or anyone else when she was home.

Finally, her mom sat the young otter down and asked how things were going. Marina was hesitant to say anything at first but she eventually broke down and told her mom about all that was going on. Through tears Marina told her mom that she had been teased constantly by both the boys and the girls at Ottsel Academy because she she was just a little thicker and more developed than a lot of the others. Her mom Carrie tried to convince her that that everything would be all right but Marina was not convinced.

So not too long later, Carrie contacted Shane and told him about what Marina had told her and worked out a deal with him. She would watch his daughters for the day and he would take Marina for a day on the town so the young otter could have a day where she didn't have to think about her new school and could just have some fun. Shane of course agreed :)

Marina of course beamed when she heard who she would be spending the day with. At least for a moment she felt better :)

At the time of the pic, they've already had a busy day. Shane had taken her out to the park to feed the ducks and had taken her to the local mall where she could buy anything she wanted (within reason of course). Before they headed home, they stopped at Shane's favorite sit down restaurant. While there she talked about all the issues she had been having and Shane just listened intently, letting her vent a bit just like when one of his daughters had something on their mind. Just like then, he only talked when necessary..he let her drive the conversation wherever she wanted to take it.

At this moment, she's finished talking and is listening to one of Shane's stories while gazing longingly at him. She had always had a bit of a crush on him, but now she saw him as more than just a handsome male..

Shane had no idea of course that her feelings were growing stronger for him.

At the end of the night, he brought her home and even kissed her on the cheek and hugged her before dropping her off back at her home.
