Lavender is one of my favorite herbs. it smells and tastes like a more subtle rosemary. Lavender grows near my house and I use it in all of my recipes.
3c flour
1c warm water (100F-120F)
1tsp sugar
1tsp salt
1Tbl yeast
2 minced garlic cloves
1Tbl minced fresh lavender
a mixture of 1 yolk and 1Tbl water
-Preheat oven to 375F
-Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl
-add in the water and mix with a fork. if too gooey, add more flour in small increments
-cover with a cloth and store in a warm place and let rise for 30 minutes.
-on a floured surface, knead the dough, and separate in to four even loaves. cover with a cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes in a warm place.
-on a bred sheet, cut slits into the dough, baste with the yolk mixture, and bake for 30-40 minutes.

Its so nice to see someone using lavendar as few realise that the flowering part is very useful and a great addition to many recipies. I use the flower tips in salad, I use the whole flower head choped up finely in puddings and deserts.
I've neer seen it used in bread so this recipe is a fantastic addintion and I'm going to have to give it a go. Well done *hugs*
