A picture I drew of my fursona based off a scene from the RP my girlfriend and I have been doing over aim. Krystal (my fursona) was going to save the man she loved (my gf's character, Sirus) from his evil half-brother, and when she confronted said evil man there was this dramatic pause then a large gust of wind which made her hairband come loose and her hair fall about her face as the wind went through it. I really liked the idea of the pose/setting/etc, so I had to draw it. I think I protrayed it pretty well =)

Anyway, this was a bit of a test for me. One, I've never really drawn "flowy" hair like this before, so it was fun doing that. Also, trying to create a more expressive look and attitude was a little hard for me as well, but I think I did pretty well on it. As for the digital part the inking was new to me. I used all/only curves and such when inking to make it smoother and such (since I finally feel I've mastered the pen tool just a little more because of my intro to computer graphics class in college) and not so choppy looking like my usual inks are. Also, the background was fun to do, I think it came out better then most my BGs normally do, even if it's just a simple sky and mountain backdrop. The colors I tried to be a litle better on the shadding, specially in the hair, trying to give it a little mroe depth then I normally do, I think I did pretty well at that, at least from what I normally do. And then I added in the "air" effect or whatever. The glowly lines flowing about her. It symbolizes not only the wind making her hair flow, but the energy and power that was starting to slightly aura around herself when she was willing to give up everything to proect Sirus.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this picture. Like all of them, it has some big flaws here and there, but I think overall it turned out better then my past pieces. I spent over 10 hours working on this picture in total, and I think the time was worth it.
