Never been wild about Valvoline's synthetic, but their conventional oil is an old favorite of mine and definitely one of the best you can buy along with PYB (Pennzoil conventional). I use that in all my older vehicles and have nothing but good to say about it! I love how clean the oil is, how it smells new, and how well it holds up after a long oil change. Still looks really good when it comes out! I run Amsoil in my 04 Tacoma daily driver though, I work on the road and rack up miles in a hurry so conventional oil isn't an option, don't have time to change the oil once every 2 weeks haha.
Oh, I know what ya mean. I had a 93 Chevy Astro that I drove until 300K miles, and used only 5w30 conventional every 5K. I now have a 97 Astro as a daily and a 68 Ford Fairlane as a project that both get the Valvoline treatment. Amsoil is the BEST oil out there, and if you are racking up that many miles, more power to you! I know most newer Toyotas can go 7.5K to 10K between oil changes, but 5K is always my personal max.
