I apologize that this comment is so past due! But hopefully you read my note explaining the situation before checking out this comment...? If not, would ya kindly? I'd rather my incoming comment be all about your awesomeness rather than my foolishness.
OK, read it? Then let due praise commence!
Good gosh this piece is incredible! Like, absolutely freaking awesome! I'm so glad I've got the full resolution piece to see it in all its glory, but even here on FA it looks quite stellar! If there's one word I could use to sum up your whole gallery, it would be colourful... and kudos to you for making even a dreary alley scene be so incredibly eye-catching overall, and the actual content so impactful! My only regret is that my laptop is quite small and so I can't view it in all of its glory all of the time... but it does help in focusing on the amazing details you've put into this piece, beyond the most obvious ones!
I really can't thank you enough for first of all just doing this piece for me, but then going above and beyond in pretty much every single aspect involved here. Izaak aiming a gun in a dramatic manner was the original pitch, if I recall correctly? Then you took it to Vistan, designed a kickass weapon, added the very cool laser sight visual, all of the dramatic lighting an rain effects... and then created a background with so many cool elements to notice that I spent a long time after receiving the image just scanning up and down for all of the little bits and pieces.
I'm so humbled by how much work you put into this for me, and then it makes me feel all the more amazing to know that you believe this piece helped you learn some new techniques and improve as an artist. I always hope that artists will have a fun time when it comes to drawing Izaak, but them getting to learn something and improve on their technique isn't something that often happens, but it's a pleasure to know it did!
So, where to begin...? I would say Izaak, but there's so much about the big guy that you did so awesomely that I still don't entirely know where to start. I guess from the top to the bottom is a good strategy...
Well, kudos to you for making the headset concept I had work on Izaak's weird head! And not only work well, but yet still look like it's just a little out of place. As it should be! Izaak's a man apart on Vistan, the tech isn't designed for him, but he's having to make it work. You made it work for Izaak, complete with that badass glow and design work that you added as well! And even though it's not the focus here, that tiny additional detail of his other eye being covered... you really pay attention to things in a great way!
Since I'm talking about the technology, let's next move on to the really great gun design that you did for me. I didn't give you a whole lot of concrete details to work with, and you still came up with something that looks both really awesome, futuristic, different... and still retaining a practical design to it. I ran the WIP by a bit of a gun nut friend of mine, and he had nothing but approval for the design! And then just like the headset... you managed to incorporate a very cool, subtle way of making Izaak look appropriately inexperienced with firearms... WITHOUT doing anything overtly dumb like holding it upside down or something ridiculously overt. Good thing he has protective scales to keep him safe from the 'bite' he's about to get!
Another thing that I think I might have mentioned in previous talks during WIPs, but you really did a great job of Izaak's build. Sometimes he's looked a little too muscular, sometimes a little too thin... but I really love the thin yet toned look you achieved here! Izaak has a subtle strength to his body... combined with a lot of confidence in his mannerisms. You certainly captured it here as he holds up his unseen victim.
I also can't not mention the great detail you added to Izaak's various different scale types. His smooth white scales, his slightly more coarse brown ones, his thick plating and those almost bone-like spines... you did a great job of all the texturing and detail work here as WELL as the lighting! Add to that his claws, his feathers, his eyes, his gills... I said it before, and I'll say again, that you went above and beyond in the most awesomely humbling way possible!
Final, special mention has to go to... yet another thing I didn't really mention in the concept of this idea, but you added yourself in a very cool way. And that's the incredibly subtle, tasteful way you indicated here that Izaak is actually completely nude. Just a tiny peek of slit that isn't really all that risqué, but goes a long way to showing that he isn't actually wearing anything down there. I like that a lot! Thank you for adding that, from a storytelling perspective!
Storytelling... hah, well, there's a whole lot of that here too! If you did this intentionally as some way to repay me for my rather ridiculous world building in that side project of ours, I don't know... but I am just so humbled by the details you put into this piece that really go to characterize Vistan! The posters and their various derogatory remarks, the dark and grimy underbelly of what looks to be a bright and bustling city, and Izaak's objective and motivation right besides him. Heck, the background is almost like a secondary character here, and I really can't thank you enough for putting so many great details in all without me outright saying so. This piece went from what was just going to be a cool look... to something that captures a really great amount of storytelling in one freeze frame moment!
I hope the artist I have lined up for the 'counter' piece to this one can make something nearly as awesome as what you've created here!
Thank you so much for this once again, man! I'm humbled and awed by everything I'm seeing here, even after all this time! And I do hope this means as much as I intend it to... by saying that had I the ability to, I would love to have this framed!

Bam!
My pleasure to do such a piece for you - I believe it totally was worth all the work! And overall, I also want to thank YOU for giving me a bit of free reign to further build upon your idea and give everything a special touch coming from my experience with your content and ideas. I believe that's why I really wanted to make a full fledged piece of art with a whole lot of interesting details.
I'm not gonna go too deep into detail here... but damn, I really appreciate all the praise you're giving me here, despite the fact that I believe some things kind of gradually evolved into the way they are looking now... meaning they necessarily weren't planned as they are right now (looking at the hand, haha).
Thank your for this chance where I could really get to 'feel' how to properly make a piece of art for someone else and make him happy, and I'm so damn glad you can even see this as more than just a piece of art... probably because I continued to build upon your initial idea in the process of creating the picture!
Also - holy crap, framed? That's a totally new level of support we're reaching here, man :D

It's a little weird... I've got so many thoughts and ideas and stories in mind, and yet giving a little bit of free reign to artists to interject their own thoughts and ideas has consistently paid off with the pieces I've received. Yours is far and away the one that's benefited the most from such. Thank you once more for all your brilliant ideas you added that really made this dreary scene come alive with story and character and meaning!
I'm hoping in the future to get a 'mirror image' to this piece... showing Izaak at home in his desert, in a situation he's much more comfortable in, in a pose that is similar but flipped... as something that to really compare and contrast, as two different parts of his life story.
So thank you for contributing one amazing half to that! To get this piece, and that piece, framed together... would be all kinds of badass!
Oh! And since I forgot the first time through, I really like your music suggestion for this piece. Starts off kinda sinister, like this piece is... but then becomes quite kinda technological and almost a little wondrous. Sorta like how I imagine Izaak would feel as he goes out into the wide world of Vistan, following this scene. You have such great music picks!
