This was the final image that was completed of Zera StormFire before her reference sheet was done by SkyShadow. This really established a lot of what her physical features were going to be like and finally solidified her personality. Some of what I write may get posed in the ref sheet or on the main page of my gallery.
Zera in this image shows the body type I eventually settled on as typical for her. She has a strongly built, athletic, yet feminine figure. She's a little larger than the average glaive, and in anthro form she's around eight feet tall.
The markings on her face are the most significant, especially the one around her eyes. This jagged marking has a close association to her name. It slightly resembles a "Z", therefore Zera, but it has a closer tie to her given glaive name StormFire. StormFire, to me, is a term for lightning. The jagged marking on her face creates what looks like a lightning bolt, and so that's part of why she got her name!
She has an extensive crest that runs down all the way to the base of her tail, all of which are mobile and able to lift and lay flat and interlock with one another like staggered spoons. The crests and her fangs are slightly more masculine features and her tomboyish personality fits them well.
Zera is a driven, tough, dominant individual. She is forceful, but she doesn’t enjoy cruelty. She is kind and loyal to those she comes to trust and respect, but her own driven nature ensures that very few fit into those categories to see this side of her. She is clever, and has grown curious as she has begun to discover the larger world. She has given herself the name Zera to aid in interacting with those not of her kind rather than using her glaive name.
This was done by Courtney over on DA and while a few features would be tweaked to finally distinguish her from SkyShadow more and get his final approval this still remains a beautiful example of what Zera's overall body type is like and captures her more or less cemented personality well. She is very difficult to dress and this was our take on the idea using a refinement of the idea seen here.

Thank you, it's very much appreciated! The species creator kept them with two fingers like that since they are tridactlyl on their limbs. I imagine it's a bit limiting only having a thumb and index finger with such large claws, but being able to fly short distances is probably worth it. I imagine it's a bit like using very flexible chopsticks to manipulate things.
Most don't like their character being handicapped in any way so they're given proper human like hands, I felt this was interesting to think about trading some manual dexterity for wings!
