At one stage, this may have been a violent confrontation. Fists and feet flying, blood spraying the ground while screaming fans back their favorites. Yes....there was a time this could have been a far different encounter than two associates drinking and playing cards, but that is no more than a fools fantasy.
The Feral circuit is big, but in the end these fighters are no more than a distraction. There is still a world out there that must turn, gears that must move. And in the end two associates playing a game of cards at sunset will change the world far more than two fighters trading blows in an arena. That is the truth of the world.

This was a backer reward from
for sponsoring his FERAL comic, and thus is set in the FERAL world. While the comic is predominantly about action and legalised street fighting, I presented an idea of a bout that wasn't physical, so instead ended up with the idea of Shadow playing a game of cards against the founder/manager of the FERAL circuit, Maxwell. A relaxed, non-violent setting which nonetheless has an air of competition, where the players still have something to lose.
