Better pic of the upper breastplate
The upper breastplate.
Polish hussar armor has a series of articulated strips, called lames, running down the front of the breast and backplates.
So while this looks short, its because only about half the breastplate is here so far.
The english wheel is steadily smoothing the surfaces, and most of the scratching will go away as a result.
Any marks left will be sanded away later.
