Every lens needs a lens hood, so I bought one! It helps with lens flare from weird angles and makes the camera a little more cosmetically appealing. :P
Unfortunately you have to buy lens hoods separately when you have non L series lenses, like me. I'm not really into getting lenses that match the price of the body alone yet. :(

Man oh man! The 10-22 is such a beast, so wide!
Now, about the fisheye, I don't think you'll get all it can offer to you when mounted on a 1.6 crop body such as your 40D, the 15mm fish is a great lens to go with a full-frame, but it sure have its "twist" on both bodies... I would prefer some prime instead such as the 50mm f1.4 (must have) or the 85mm f1.8... dunno just my thought ^^
