This works far better than the political cartoons I’ve seen that revolve around donkey kicking elephant somewhere delicate, then offering painkillers with some platitude about “work to do”. Why? Because unlike them, this is not patronizing or condescending—which is guaranteed to put off at least half the audience.

I love this picture. It stands alone as a beautiful work of art, I must say - both animals rendered beautifully, conveying warm, happy emotions. I never thought it easy to make elephants expressive - but you've managed it beautifully, I must say, with just the eyes. He looks like elephants should - old, wise and warm. The part of that party that seems to have faded with men like McCain and Rockerfeller. And the donkey looks young, slightly playful and sparky - like some of the older, and newer, stars of that party. Regardless of the political content, they are beautiful creations.
As a student of politics, the message behind this picture is wonderful. I wish I could afford it - I have a feeling I would hang it proudly in my office when I become an academic and take it from university to university. If you ever do prints of this, I will be here in dash :D
