Sitting forlornly at the very back of the Kentucky & Tennessee Railway property in Stearns, KY is this original K&T air powered side dump car. As a mountain railroad along a river the K&T had to keep up with maintenance of way issues to keep coal from the mines it served flowing.
Sitting on a long disused piece of trackage the car hasn't seen service in a LONG time. The stencil on the air tanks state the brakes were last serviced in the winter of 1947.
