"What's this, he's SUBMITTING something?" : 0
I know.
...I KNOW.
This is a background story I am writing for my characters. I have no idea how long it'll be, exactly, but I expect it to be pretty flippin' long when it's complete.
I say "when," because I'm just optimistic like that. Besides, inspiration is powerful stuff.
My MAIN main characters in this story are human, but I hope to properly present that said characters reside in a world full of diversity. And even in these early stages, I already know of one significant furry character I'll be using, so because of this I feel justified in submitting the story here. : 3
Or maybe I didn't need justification in the first place, as long as I try to make it the best story I can? You decide on that one I guess.
This mainly will follow (or CHRONICLE- *Shot*) the Joseph family through a few generations, starting with Sera and Max, two young adults/teens/adolescents/you get the basic idea. Eventually another character will emerge, who I'd call the true main character of the story. He will mainly go by the name will be Jax. The world, which I've already hinted will house many different species, will have intended parallels to our own world. The concept of magic will also exist in this story.
The last name Joseph is actually my own middle name. This fits, as I feel a connection with these characters, which explains my enthusiasm about this story.
The opening is short, but following chapters will be longer. I felt this would be a good way to set the story's tone: It will be one of hope, struggle, revelation, understanding, purpose, love, hate, searching, family, friendship, mysteryactionadventurephilosophical-ness. One of a very fine balance between fantasy and realism.
I intend to give it a very positive ending, which should reflect my overall writing style. But to be realistic I will attempt to delve into a bit more darkness than my keyboard is usually accustomed to.
And to those of you who know me and those of you who are on Gaia, yes, it's gonna be posted on my Gaia journal too. This chapter is already up on there, but I'm excited about posting it here where it has more public potential.
Comments/criticism are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated, as are faves and watches. Not to mention reading. ^^
Double points, because I think this author comment is probably longer than the prelude itself, or at least close to it.
