Nope English is my first, German is kind of my second (second in terms of starting to learn it, but because the absolutely massive lack of it anywhere where i lived in the U.S. I was learning it through bits and pieces here and there), but I would consider Latin or French to be the true second language I started to learn via language courses and whatnot... although since there is exactly zero reasons to know Latin unless you're a historian of the Roman Empire; all but the grammar has slipped away from me only leaving a few words left in my vocabulary; and ever since I came to Germany I haven't been keeping up with my French so I would assume it's pretty crappy once again, although once I'm nice and fluent with German I'll probably pick French back up for some fun.

aaah. I am pure English. I can read French....mostly, as well as speak a little. I also know a few words and phrases in Japanese and Spanish but thats about where my usefulness dies off.
I want to be able to cover 2 basic sentences in every possible language though:
"Where is the bathroom?"
and the ever needed:
"I'm sorry, I don't speak your language. Do you speak English?"

I understood that reference :P
And hey, man, If they wanna leave you out of their conversations, you can leave them out of yours =D

what conversations? I cant very well talk to myself and the only other english person was concentrating on driving! >_<

nah its cool. I was actually more awkward about not being able to speak to you in your own language. I think I know maybe 10 words lol

10 words is better than nothing :) besides, I need to improve my English a bit

seriously? you speak it better than I do half the time and I was BORN english!

I sometimes still have a lack of words that's unbelievable... especially if I want to express something and "dingensensens" is something you can't translate into English XD
