Likely made of an alloy containing cortosis, which can not only defend from lightsabers, but can deactivate them when contact is made, resulting a somewhat good defense, but even better at lightsaber-wielding foes.

I never liked that change to cortosis. It use to JUST overload them in its first appearance. And there was already a material that blocked sabers: Mandalorian Iron. So..eh. Fanboy rant. XD
