I miss the icicles more though :P loved making 'em fall off the roof and impact on the snow because what we had usually was like in layers :P so the icicle would stop for like a moment before pushing through to the next level.

Sounds cool, but the icicles broke 2 of my gutters last year, I had them replaced in the spring.

:P maybe then again might be to help collect rain water or summin o.o I know that a few houses on the planet green station use their gutters to collect rain water in their rain water barrels :P
