It's been an uphill struggle, but you and your apocalyptic battle buddy managed to make it through the first few waves of slavering zombie hordes in search of your missing companion. You're exhausted, and night's fallen on the once booming metropolis now under the reign of the zombies and their bio-engineering warlords. You and PLAYER 2 duck down a side street after a bit of scouting, thinking there may be a place to hole up for the night and lick yours wounds.

PLAYER 2 unwittingly kicks the remains of a pop bottle across the bumpy asphalt!

The grating, hollow sound the glass makes seems to reverberate off the walls of the empty street, and you and your companion hold your breath... for a moment it seems as if every hair on your body is charged with the anxiety building deep in your chest, you stand poised-- drawn taut like a rubberband ready to snap at the first sign of guttural snarling... but the threat passes and you both suck a deep breath in relief.

In an instant, the silence is broken by the door shuddering thump of countless bodies coming from the apartment alcove to your right, and before you know it the decaying corpses are piling out of the broken door like so many hapless midgets out of a clown car!

It's so fast you almost miss the straggler that'd managed to tail you down the side street, but a bit of quick reacting manages to make up for the lack of awareness, and you jam the sharp end of your crowbar through its snout, staggering but not stopping its relentless, hunger driven scramble. Besieged from front and side, the scene becomes more dire when a meaty, deep howl sounds from the crumbling ruins of the building to the left, and out of the darkness plunges the dire form of something wicked! Aglow with ominous chemical injectors and riddled with bionic enhancements you stare at the beast, woefully outnumbered and weary, still struggling with the zombie hooked on your only weapon.
