TL/DR at bottom
What do you get when you cross a monsterous Scorpion beast with the body of a dino and the appetite and maw of a sandworm? Well, chances are it would look something like Tal'Vera. Standing at a little over 6' at the shoulder. Legend has it that those that are unlucky enough to come across her always turn up months later as lifeless wanderers. Behaving like they have nothing to live for. But after a short while, they come to and never claim to remember what happened to them in the first place.
In reality, Tal'Vera is a predator of the night, stalking anything and everything that dares step foot in her territory with a sandy sinkhole that pulls them into the powerful mandables and tube-like tongue where they're devoured whole and carried down to the beasts burrow. Once there, she enslaves them. Viciously draining them of their knowledge empower her control before ultimately releasing them when they are no longer of any use to her, sending them back with a heavy case of amnesia and no memory of ever being taken in the first place. All in the hopes that they'll soon return with new knowledge to feed off of.
Alexander just so happened to take a liking to her mischievous ways, and boldly approached the monster to offer her a position on his ship. Despite Tal'Vera valuing her being unknown from the rest of the world, she accepts his offer after being promised anything in the world money could buy, looking to expand her knowledge in new fields that she would learn from traveling around the world.
Tal'Vera joins the expedition as a specialist, using her unique poison from her mouth and tail to dull the senses of her target to the point where she can then fill their minds with reasons to trust her and the get the answers she wants, making her a step above your average interrigator. Aside from that, she's also exceptionally physically powerful, capable of using her claws to burrow through several inches of concrete without fulling even a little. That combined with the ability to shift through the ground like a fish does through water and you'll soon start to put together what makes her such a formidable predator.
The way to escape her? Don't get caught and stay off the ground. You'd sooner break through cell bars than you would her powerful jaws and even more powerful belly.
Sorry for the wall of text, but thanks for reading if you did. There was just quite a few details to cover.

TL/DR: Tal'Vera here is a Nocturnal, ground hunter that uses her fast speed, strength and endurance on land to viciously hunt down prey. Her species is a tribred of Scorpion, dino and sandworm. Her unique poison has the ability to enslave or hypnotize her victims and its this uncanny ability that caught Alexander's eye and bought her an invitation to be apart of the crew.
