As a choral Director, I had the opportunity to contact the American Indian Tribal Council in Chicago. I wanted the words in Huron Indian for "The Huron Carol." ("Twas In the Moon of Wintertime.") I think I got it in Lakota tribal tongue instead. They were very kind and amazed that anyone would take an interest in their culture and language. My Christmas Concerts always had a few songs done in Engliah and then in the Native tongue of the piece performed.
