Here's one of the last bandit types that the main artist  bodyxcount and I have been working on.

This is the Hurtken bandit variant, who are basically like local militia who occasionally get into turf wars with other factions or the main characters; mostly their motivation is to control the local settlements and trade routes, but they are sometimes seen working with criminals or bandits when opportunities for mutual interest arise.

These types are moderately well armed, and are organized enough to use basic tactics; they are more common than the professional Volterran mercenaries, but less common than the numerous Soldien frontier bandits.

Hurtken militia units will probably only fight the protagonists if they are caught trying to pull jobs in their "turf", or if they do something to anger one of the militia commanders. Otherwise this is one of the few groups that will not shoot first and ask questions later, as they act as a sort of town guard in any population center that lacks legitimate authority.
