This is the result of an experiment where I tried to do a radical redesign of Captain Ironspine, an old Sonic the Hedgehog fan character. I wanted to make a more original, less Sonic-like version of him, like I did with Benign and Summer (redesigning Ironspine ended up being much more challenging).

The original was a fully robotic hedgehog, while this version is a half-robotic porcupine. He probably sustained heavy damage on one side of his body and was "fixed" with cybernetic parts, Dark Legion style.

His persona is pretty much the same. He's a modern-day pirate villain who romanticizes the "golden age" of piracy and lets that influence his dress and his behavior. He's generally serious and somber, and not easily swayed or discouraged. He prefers to be respected, not feared, and he is particularly respectful of women. He's not exactly bloodthirsty, but out of all my characters, he's probably the one with the most potential for violence. He doesn't suffer fools very well.
