It you play him enough with your hands and use doggy toys they tend to learn that biting to hard hurts you. When my huskies were little I would pretend I was really hurt when they bite to hard. Then their little ears would pin back and they try to lick my face, they were so adorable. After awhile they just grab a toy they wanted to play with and bring it to me.
