what is with people and hugging dangerous creatures

There is a cute aspect to this picture, so that intensifies the desire to hug.
I guess it's because we can't do it in real life, so this is a way to express the want.

Why do people want to?

It could be an attempt to win over such a creature, having it return its affections.
Having a dangerous creature, capable of killing you on your good side, and you being on its good side is a very thrilling and desirable aspect with many people.

hmmm.....that was very thought out and deep i thank you for the insight but i would like to point out it is hard to give hugs when you are inside the thing you are trying to hug

You are welcome, it made a lot of sense to me and it's my particular reason behind my wish to snuggle big creatures.
Also what you say is true, to an extent. Trust me, I've had a lot of experience in the area, insides are just as snuggly except there are no arms to hug you back, but there can be a great deal more squeezing and happy growls.

never had a prey like being in my stomach before

Well it is an unnerving situation, being surrounded by stomach walls that just want to squeeze you and cram you up, inside a predator that is probably either pleased with itself and enjoying the superior feeling, or it has completely forgotten about its meal and is moving on in whatever comes next.

I have only ever liked it if its someone I know, or someone who cares about me and just wants to make sure I'm warm and safe and protected. That's the sweet and gentle, loving affectionate side to that situation.

If its a wild creature, or someone who I don't know well, then yeah it can be a little scary...the whole survival instincts kick in. Problem for me is, being a smaller, weaker human, I can't really do much except run, and even then I'm not fast, and I'm not strong enough to push something off of me if I get pounced on.

i never digest my prey but the internal massage is always nice
