But evermore will I SMIRK
Trying out manga studio again, this time with gray scale PAINTING and SHADING PRACTICE. Oh goody! At some point while working like this, he started to bear an uncanny resemblance to Solid Snake. ... That was quite entertaining, if only for 10 minutes.

I think suggestions work too well on me, because I can still see some Solid Snake-yness in this drawing, despite the definite non-human parts.
I think this is really good practice. In fact, when I finished shading something, I turn off all colors and turn the opacity of the shading layer to 100% and try to fix things that way. It helps with depth perception and all that.
This drawing reminds me a bit of that process. It looks a bit like it, though this looks a bit better than what I conjure up, heh.

I think it's mainly the style of the drawing and some of his features that make me think of Snake, like this illustration for example! I didn't think about it while drawing, but after awhile I definitely noticed the similarities!
I do think it's great practice, and a bit of a fun exercise too! I do that as well when I shade, so I don't get too distracted by the way the colors affect the shading
Aw shucks, you stop that! >:C
