Lucario, with curiosity, looked at the tiny lizard pokémon in his paws, and nodded, answering Charizard's question.
"Yeah..." the blue jackal whispered.
Charizard looked at the floor and shook his head.
"Another pet for Lyle's little collection..." the dragon whispered.
"Anyway... Hey... I'm Charizard."
Lucario smiled, a little. "Oh, yeah, I'm Lucario, hi."
The little dragon felt so tiny in Lucario's paws. He was light too, but Lucario could feel the lizard's weight which was mostly centered around his round, orange belly. His voice was quiet thanks to the size difference, but Lucario's sensitive ears could detect his smooth and somewhat deep voice perfectly. Communicating with these smaller pokémon wasn't going to be a problem, he realized.
"Well well... How did they catch you? I thought your kind could... sense danger, or something. With your aura sense. Did they find you while you were sleeping?" Charizard asked.
"No, well, it was more like I found them sleeping, really." He responded.
Lucario recounted his day's story to the micro-dragon, finishing with the details of the journey home in Lyle's warm hold.
Charizard sighed and scratched his chin. "That's alot like the stories the other pokémon here will tell. Snatched up, shrunken, then brought here. Same for some of the other creatures too, but some of them lived in this town years ago, before it got... this way. Before that dragon worked his magic."
"So, this really is, real? The town?" Lucario asked, surprised.
"Oh, sure", Charizard said. "There's even a wolf in here who's always telling the story of how it happened... Oh, but, it might take time for anyone besides me to talk to you. They're all nervous because of you being huge, and all."
"Um, but I'm... small?" Lucario said. Just then he thought, and realized what Charizard meant. Lucario was tiny, but the residents of the town were miniscule. Why, were Lucario still normal sized, he thought, they would be like little grains of rice from his perspective.
"Oh", he said.
"Yup." Charizard replied. "Say, do you know why Lyle didn't have you shrunken smaller? He's never let anyone stay that big in the city before."
Lucario sighed. "I don't know... maybe he forgot? It's not like I can escape, anyway."
Just then Lucario felt a rumble in his belly. He removed one palm from under Charizard, who stumbled over and into the center of the remaining palm holding him. Lucario rubbed his belly, then looked at Charizard, and smiled.
"Oh, sorry", he said, watching the little lizard sit up and re-fold his wings.
"Just tell me next time you're going to move my floor, thank you. I was worried you'd drop me for a second there. And since I have trouble flying..."
"Flying trouble?" Lucario asked. "But your wings-"
"Hmph," Charizard replied. "At this size, my wing muscles are weaker and can't keep me up for more than a few seconds. If it were any different, I would have flown out of here, you can bet."
"Um, okay. I think I understand." The jackal said, wondering how weak he now was. As Lucario's belly rumbled once again, he heard a distant sounding *thud*.
Charizard looked into the air and groaned quietly as he heard another *thud*, a louder one, which came in time with a small shake of the ground. "Sounds like Lyle's back", the lizard said. "Lyle...", Lucario whispered.
Lucario carefully put Charizard down on the ground then took a couple steps closer to the city. The other mimiaturized residents were all moving around and hiding indoors, some of them rushing and hiding away randomly around the place as they heard and felt Lyle's pawsteps as he seemed to come nearer, the shaking of the ground now very obvious.
"Charizard, why are they hiding?" The jackal asked.
"Why do you think, look!" Said the orange lizard, pointing into the sky as it was filled with Lyle's titanic form.
Lucario gasped.
"Hey, I'm back, little buddy", the wolf said with a smile. The giant wolf scratched his midriff and looked around, his smile growing. "Hm, and you made a friend. Good", he chuckled, his words mumbled a little by something in the wolf's mouth. "Charizard, I'm sure you two will be the best of friends." Lyle teased.
Charizard grunted.
"But now," Lyle continued, "I'm going to borrow Lucario for a while", he said, sucking on whatever he was hiding in his maw.
Lucario twitched as the massive wolf, with surprising speed, reached a paw into the enclosure and toward the tiny jackal.
"Don't worry, I'll bring him back later." Lyle said, smiling as Lucario backed away from his grasp.
Charizard gasped as the house-sized hand moved over him, covering him with it's shadow, and turned his head just in time to see the wolf's fingers surround Lucario.
The aura pokémon whined as the wolf's huge hand enclosed him, and lifted him up, away from Charizard and the solid ground. Next thing he knew, he was out of the shrunken city entirely and looking his new master, Lyle, in the face. Lucario blushed as Lyle smiled and gently blasted the jackal with air from his nose, which, to Lucario, felt like the wind. The massive wolf's fur was a little damp, as if he'd just dried off after a shower, and besides his natural scent, Lucario sensed the fragrance of leaves on him.
Lyle relaxed his hold on Lucario and, lowering his hand to his chest, opened his palm and allowed Lucario to sit comfortably atop it for the journey through the house to one of the other rooms. A journey Lyle made slow enough not to rumble Lucario around much, though the jackal found himself gripping Lyle's fur tightly anyway from the fear of falling from the soft palm and down to the ground below. Lucario looked up to his master and whimpered, and in response, the wolf gently pet him.
"Don't worry, you're gonna like what comes next."
