Continuing my latest 'sweeps month' (September, 2015), I have another classic 'photo-op' for "Throwback Thursday"...
I resume posting more pictures I took (back in the 1990s) of my visit to ZooMiami (formerly the Miami Metroozoo) with my friend from New York City Linda Meris Skwer...
During our visit, we were at the children's section - which included a petting zoo, an elephant ride, and even an educational center with live animal demonstrations. It was at the latter venue, when Linda and I witnessed a lecture on some of the local fauna here in south Florida. One of the live animals on exhibit was a very tame opossum, who was allowed to roam loose around the compound. (With the exception of seeing this marsupial stuck in a tree, one time at Rutherford Park in Boca Raton, this was the closest I'd ever came to seeing a opossum.)

I'm impressed by how tame opossums can be. When I lived in southern California there was a neighbor of ours that had a couple of tame opossums. The male (named "Pogo" for obvious reasons ^_^) if he got to know you, would follow you around like a canine and poke his nose into anything you were doing. :)
