The lammergeier, or bearded vulture, is a bird quite unlike most others. It survives by feeding on bone marrow. Its stomach is strong enough to dissolve whole bones in just a day. It is also known to carry prey away and drop it from a height, killing it and splintering its bones to feast upon. Needless to say, when you create a gryphon from one of these, it gets pretty fuckin' scary.
