Keran and Viera are currently undertaking a mission on their own; scouting the warehouse where River was meant to drop off her slaves. But Keran's fears are not far from the back of his mind; his encounter with Deirdre has left him rattled. His own instincts are starting to worry him as well, starting to make him feel less and less in control...

Apologies for the slightly longer wait between chapters this time around, but here it is! Chapter 2 starts to establish a bit more about the villains for my series, as well as a few other recurring threads that will keep coming up within the story. I had a lot of fun with this chapter, and I hope you all have just as much fun reading it!
As always, feel free to comment about anything you want regarding the chapter; what you liked or disliked, or what you felt worked or didn't work. I'm always open to them! ^^

Heheh, just finished reading. Was interesting to see... I rather like Keran's sort of battle against himself; that struggle against instinct, hehe.
The Reclaimers definitely seem like an interesting antagonistic group, as well... Roderick does seem to have a point, given their methods.
...Reading this makes me think that I really need to knuckle down and write more, myself...

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, Keran seems to have a side to himself that even he's not used to seeing all of a sudden. I've got lots of fun stuff planned for the little guy x3
And I'm glad you liked the Reclaimers, including a full group as an antagonist for the series is a bit daunting when I think about everything that's going to happen in the future, but hopefully they'll turn out okay.
As for your own writing, I hope that it just ends up inspiring you rather than making you feel rushed. I don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you or anything ^^

Interesting chapter.
Seeing Keran starting to get more in touch with his "predator side" is quite the jump from the last chapter. I imagine he'll be experimenting with this quite a bit in the future. And the idea that Viera could potentially be drawn to it, as Keran thought for that brief moment, is something i wouldn't mind seeing drawn out later on, even if it's not true.
So, now we know who that mysterious guy from the end of the prologue was :P. Wasn't expecting Gardevoir, though I blame that on my mental perception of the Pokemon being strictly female. I'm eager to see where his inclusion in the series will go, since him and River are bound to have bad blood.
and finally, there's the enemy faction itself: The Reclaimers. Can't really say how I feel about them yet, as all I have to go on is their base motivation of "reclaiming the wild", but I like the idea of the higher-ups potentially being corrupt and just using the faction as a way to drive their own personal goals.

Oh don't worry, Viera's not going to stay removed from this sort of thing for long, heheh.
And yeah, there's a bit more to the Reclaimers than what's actually going on, as hinted at by Roderick there. They'll be showing up fairly often throughout the series, so I'm hoping that I manage to do a good job making them good antagonists for the series.

Hey, it's me again. I know it's been another long while since my last comment here. Still haven't gotten to checking out the prologue parts, but I remain impressed at the progression of things.
It's probably no surprise that I really want to see Keran develop into even more of a predator-type. Heck, a bit of me was mildly disappointed even when he thought to slip in a Seed along with his would-be prey, and this is coming from someone who actually doesn't like fatality as much as one might expect. To me, it's too bad he didn't fully give in to himself, but I suppose I shouldn't have expected it. Don't mind me though, I just wanted to see some Umbreon vores and I'll gladly take what I can get. I have my guesses as to what will happen, but I'll hold back.
I can't blame River for acting the way she did. No matter what, you just can't reasonably expect one to just forgive anybody who may have taken part in seriously, er, messing them up. I feel for her, I really do, and I can't wait for the day when she finally gets to kick ass. The anger is clearly justified, but I can only hope she doesn't lose herself to it.

Hey again! Don't worry about it, my series isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so you can still read them at whatever pace you feel like. I'm glad you're still enjoying it though!
Hehe, Keran's little arc that I've developed has surprised me a bit, since I went in never really intending for him to be a predator. He's definitely become one of my favourite characters to write for now, and I'm really looking forward to some of the stuff that I have planned for him. And yeah, as for the Reviver Seed bit; fatal vore is actually going to be quite rare in this series, usually just reserved for some of the villains. It's just not really my thing, honestly.
I'm glad that you like River too! I feel like I'm struggling a bit with how exactly I want her to be portrayed, but since the next couple of chapters have some POV scenes from her perspective I'm hoping that I can fix that. The possibility of her losing herself to her anger is her major conflict, so I'm glad that's coming across at least ^^

This was a fun read, it was interesting seeing Keran struggling with that. I wonder how Viera is going to react to all this... or whether River will ever be able to forgive Roderick.
The Reclaimers are an interesting bunch too, I'm looking forward to seeing more from them. x3

Finally got to reading this chapter and I gotta say it was really good! It's interesting to see Keran slowly starting to turn into a predator, and having Viera actually like him eating other pokemon. Roderick seems like a interesting character, and having a former member of the enemy team is quite a big help, though hopefully River won't kill him before he actually helps out. ^^;
I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter too! Now that the series has properly gotten under way I'm starting to get everyone's character arcs set up, and it's good that they're all interesting to you so far. And yeah, River and Roderick are going to have to work through some things before they can start working together. ^^
