Just another fun night at the local cinema. Eyes glued to the screen, cell phones effectively silenced, and tentacles wrapped on the seat.
What's that? No, I don't see anything unusual with this picture. How odd of you to ask.
Funderful painting done by the amazing
meglyman, who does a boatload of cephalopod-related stuff all the time. Check her out today!

Hell yeah. I laugh my ass off every time I see that. there are certain Simpsons moments that I have tpo pause the DVD because I am laughing so hard every time I see them. that is one of them, as well as "Hey Marge. Look what I got. A baby monitor. Baby to Marge! Baby to Marge! WAH WAH! Over!: and "Dear baby. Welcome to dumpsville. Population: you."
"I've got to win that Oscar, I've bribed everyone in Hollywood!"
And a different one that came to mind as I was coming home today:
"Ah, that's one fine lookin' barbecue pit... why doesn't mine look like that!? Why!? Why!? Why must life be so hard!? Why must I fail at every attempt at masonry!?"

Actually, you just cover the edges of the tank with rough, hard-ware store-bought, heavy grained sandpaper. Worked for me, and I used to have one. Little 15 inch fellow. Awesome creatures. But too smart for their own good. A hell of a lot smarter than you'd think. Like, literally, primate level intelligence. Smarter than my dogs at any rate. He/she/it (I didn't know it's gender) would always figure ways around, past, over, and through any and all problems. It was kind of... scary.
By the way, I'm lovin this pic. And the artist is amazing.

No you don't. Actually, well, maybe you do. They are a BITCH to handle. They get everywhere, make every attempt to escape and explore, and yes they can survive out of water. I believe they quite possibly can even breath oxygen, and only need to stay wet to be outside. But aside from the deadly curiosity and stubbornness (mine was incredibly stubborn, it always wanted to get it's own way. I would say "No" and it would refuse to cease) they can be incredibly interesting. It all depends on whether you're up to dealing with their shenanigans.

They definitely seem like a taxing pet, and I'd need to be in the position to care for one adequately before I even considered it. But they're just so damn interesting (even watching one just sit and breathe is neat to me), so I think the nature of them is worth the struggle to keep them alive.
And they're pretty strong. Like really strong. Alot more than than they look. If it decides to grab something and not let go... you're not going to get it to let go. I once had to put it back in the aquarium still attached to my Thundercats T-shirt because it wouldn't let go.
