I was inspired by a certain roe deer in one of 
eocostello's Spontoon tales...

i remember watching the slug races across post hole park in portland oregon. (portland boasts (or did at the time i lived there in the 80s) one of the largest parks, forest park, and one of the smallest, which is, as name implies, a hole, left in the sidewalk, after the removal of a wooden power pole)
