Been reading more Ono Natsume comics and appreciating that sense of quiet and having figures just kind of be there. Just a quick sketch after work and snuck in between a couple of other art projects I'm taking on at the moment. May move it to scraps in a bit, etc. etc.
I still can't believe it's December already... @_@

Really cool, quiet piece. I love the sideburns on the rabbit and I generally hate head-hair on furs. Neat use of an odd color, too. The only thing that catches my eye at all is the sharpness of that shadow. The rest of the image looks like it's done in markers. The shadow looks vectory to me. No need to put this in scraps. It's a done deal, and a nice one at that.
Yeah, same hear. Well, except for instrumental or orchestral stuff. Then it's just pretty. But all those happy Celine Dion Merry WHINEMASS tracks or that upbeat Frank Sinatra crap drives me insane. No offense against the old man, but.... DAMN... after the 50th loop you kinda begin to loose it. And then you get into battles with the clerks as you attempt to assert your dominance with little more than various pieces of womens' undergarments.
Besides, where's all the Thanksgiving music?

December has come around far too fast...Where has this year gone?
Yet another year of the same crap christmas music, while everyone goes and empties the cash from their wallets over presents that'll be forgotton in under a year. :/
On a sidenote, lovely picture! Look at those fabulous sideburns :3~

Eh, as much as I'll join in ragging on christmas carols, I do think there's something to be said for traditional celebration. The christmas holiday and its religious connotations aside, I think it's kind of nice that we're driven for one day out of the year to take stock and to think of others, even if it's just in the form of an ultimately forgettable gift. Holidays help punctuate the year in our memories, and they offer a good excuse to do something a little bit special. The specific holiday per se is secondary, but I'm glad for that excuse.
Haha, yeah, the chops were just a quick one-stroke "does this look at all reasonable?" kind of thing that I wound up liking ^_^
And as far as places to find Ono Natsume stuff online, if you just meant something to look at you could try the official site, or this IKKI comics special Ono Natsume page. Enjoy navigating a unique blend of Italian and Japanese text <3
If you meant to order comics, you can always go through www.amazon.co.jp ^_^

I get what you mean. Guarnido who did Blacksad said he liked using them to control a readers pace. Those small pauses give you time, even if one doesnt realize it, to appreciate the mood and whats going on.
I like that color green. And I cat help but exclaim it, but... BUNNY SIDEBURNZ :O

Totally -- he architectures some wonderfully open spaces, while also cramming a hump-ton of detail into it, so you get the feeling of a break, while also getting a bunch of stuff to keep your eyes busy. I love going through his color studies and sketches. The sheer amount of work that goes into those books is nuts.
Indeed. Seeing as I cant read my first and third issues, I spend more time really just looking at how he sets them all up. He probably does 3 times the work for each comic, but the end result is just wonderfull. But as for the quiet panels and busy environments, and my overall favorite scene would def be from the first comic when hes wandering the foggy movie-set and Varan(snake dude) comes from the haze ans flicks out that knife. That and all that followed was all done relatively wordless, and it kicked so much ass how well it flowed.
