It's the first crisp and cool day that, for me, marks the start of fall! My favorite time of the year. ^^
This type of weather makes me feel so content, and at the same time makes me want to move around a lot, and also paint a lot! I had this sketch of eldrige roasting a marshmallow from earlier in the summer, and was motivated to finish it today to commemorate such a fine day of perfectly clear & cool autumn weather.
Anyone else enjoy the fall? :) What are some of your favorite things about it? Or, if you don't, what do you dislike about it?

Me too, warm/hot weather makes me feel so lazy, the cool weather today was the first time I felt energized in ages! The leaves are starting to fall, too, I love it. <3
Aw, that's a shame! I've heard eating local honey if you have access to some can help alleviate allergies, plus it's tasty. ^^

I feel I've come to appreciate the Fall less, as I've grown older and become more preoccupied with life, particularly university. Most days, I'm commuting into Chicago for class and then back again when the day is done, and I don't really get to enjoy the changing of the seasons. However, I still have many fond memories of Fall from when I was younger.
From when I was 7, all the way through 18 years of age, I was involved in the Cub Scouts and later the Boy Scouts. Camping was a regular thing, and since I live in a suburb of Chicago, most of it involved traveling north for an hour or so into northern Illinois or parts of Michigan or Wisconsin. I know of few places in the United States that are more breathtaking when the leaves begin to change colors than the forests around the Great Lakes, where it seems as though the world is on fire with all the brilliant colors. The air becomes crisp and refreshing, the daytime sun is warm, but not too hot, and at night the chill can be warded off by sitting around a campfire. Later in the season, insects (especially mosquitoes and gnats) start to dwindle, and I can actually simply sit outside reading a book without having to swat the bloodsuckers away.
I also remember, as the leaves fell, that I would rake them all up into a large pile near a swing and jump off at the height of a swing into the pile, making the leaves fly into the air like confetti. Then, there are the fall annuals and perennials that bloom, such as mums and long stalks of wild lavender.

Thank you for sharing your fall memories, I enjoyed picturing those scenes in my mind. :) I hope you will have more opportunities to enjoy the changing seasons in the future, university can definitely take up all the hours of your day! In the meantime, maybe you can enjoy them by indulging in some fall-themed treats, such as pumpkin sweets or pumpkin coffee/spiced lattes while you study. :)
I'm not much one for pumpkin (except spiced and roasted pumpkin seeds), but there are several other vegetables and fruits that are in season around this time of year to enjoy. The weather also tends to be a bit more predictable and the temperature mild, making commuting and any work outside a lot more comfortable.
Fall has been an inspiration for several poems and short stories I've written, so there's that as well.

Mmm, spiced and roasted pumpkin seeds are divine. I'm going to a farm later today, I just might have to pick up some pumpkins and roast some up! I love the different squashes that are in season during the fall, too. :)
Nice! I also find fall to be stimulating for the creative senses. :)
