You can perhaps tell that I don't do much traditional painting, but lately I've been thinking about doing it more often, so I recently got this 20cm x 20cm canvas. I already had some acrylic paint and a paintbrush from an art set I got a few years ago. I'd drawn on the canvas in pencil before painting to try and help myself. While I was basically going for a lineless look without it being particularly detailed here, I wonder if it'd have been a better idea to get a new brush for painting this, as the one I used here is quite old and seems prone to splitting. I'm not really sure how to feel about how this painting turned out, to be honest; I guess it didn't quite turn out how I'd hoped, but maybe it could be seen as being vaguely expressionist or something.
The two characters here have both appeared once before in a drawing I made earlier this year. I thought they might be good for experimenting with different media. I've actually heard that "Red Panda Day" is coming up shortly, so I suppose it's appropriate in a way that I'm uploading this pic around this time. Here's the drawing in which these two different kinds of panda appeared first: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16615136/.
