Hmmm, I don't have that problem with my tail, and I am very curvy, then again it's not a theropod tail... but I'm sure if you were to get the pattern done right, you could have the tail sit well for anyone. To me, it appears like the belt loops are on the bottom of the tail, rather near the top, and I think that's what's making it just look a bit off.
