I like how you blended together some dragon, bat, bird and gryphon in him, looks natural (even though I don't much believe in the possibility of traditional dragon chest construction), not over-ornamented yet nicely proportioned. I could imagine him at a stature of a smaller dog, with about a meter and half wingspan, maybe even as an "accessory" of a pirate ship (though a bit large to sit on the shoulder, but still, half the ubiquitous parrot, half a more or less intelligent scout). Well, just my thoughts.
