Let's face it. I'll never actually catch a pigeon but if I did, this is probably what I'd do.

When I was little I always tried to catch a squirrel. One day, while my mom was out raking the leaves, I caught one! I didn't know what to do so I ran up to her in my excitement and then it bit me so I let it go out of shock. I started crying and my mom said "See, I told you it'd bite you, dumbass (mom was always a big jokster, in no way was she offending me)" and I looked at her and said behind my tears "It got away :C I wanted you to see it!".
They hang around in the back area of my work all the time, I have to go out several times a day, I occasionally 'drop' some of the panko breadcrumbs I am getting from the back as I walk back into work for them.
I caught one in our back hallway once because somebody had left the door open, He had no where to go so I caught him and held/stroked him for a bit before releasing him out the back (minus one wingfeather) The bugger still comes back EVERY DAY when I am outside before my shift!, I can see the gap where he lost the feather, it's the same damn pidgeon!, He comes over and stares at me with his beady little eyes, and pecks around my feet when I go out for a rest before my shift.

How delightful, I especially like the pigeon's expression in the 2nd frame and its ceres so nicely defined.
We have some rock pigeons in town here, they walk around quite boldly amongst the throngs people, and scuttle under benches and tables to pick up choice pieces of discarded pastry or sandwich. They have such fine dainty white claws and toes, and even tho' very small their presence is as immense as if they were 10 feet tall. There are also, these late years, wood pigeons that perch on an ancient cathedral where only rock pigeons had previously perched.
I even once saw a wood pigeon trying to court a rock pigeon.
