PFC Andrew Dodd is the engineer aboard the Space Transport Dakota. Dodd has served on the Dakota for a little less than a year, the Dakota being the second vessel he's served on since he's left the Corps of Engineering Academy. The Dakota offers him some freedoms in the way he does his job, since he's usually the only in the engineroom.

The rest of the crew think that Dodd can be quite eccentric at times--they only assume it's from working with machines all the time--but it's never outmatched his friendly enthusiasm. His prior NCO remarked that Dodd's upbeat and optimistic attitude was peculiar and "there's something wrong with that one."
