An interesting dish from
!
1 cup Campbell's chicken broth
1 cup water
1 cup Campbell's fiesta cheese soup
1 cup milk (I used whole but any will work)
1 cup shells (noodles, I promise)
Combine broth and water in a small pot and boil
Add noodles
Cook ten minutes or until the pasta is to your liking
Add fiesta soup and milk
Mix well
Just a late night cooking experiment that went quite well

That's a cultural/chef language to common difference that you are running into with the lingo. In American common lingo they tend to refer to a lot of the pasta differently for what ever reason. Macaroni is the hose like noodle in most places but in America the refer to shells or elbow noodles as macs
Macaroni is a certain pasta shape - however a lot of people know mac-n-cheese as any sort of noodles and cheese. Even in chain restaurants they call it mac and cheese but they'll use shells instead of macaroni. Shells just hold the sauce in better than macaroni to be honest.
