Gure Sabaru's Backstory (full)
Dark clouds where gathering above in the sky, a sudden, distant and deep rumble cracked open a light through the sky for an instant. The wind was strong and blowing fiercely through the large gathering of tree’s that made up a forest spreading for miles. The night’s sky seemed relentless as more and more often the loud crackling sound of thunder raked down upon the forest, all seemed attracted to a very certain point in the dead center of the forest. Sticking out from above the large trees there was a large antenna, easily mistaken for a broadcast and satellite antenna, but its main purpose was gathering the enormous release of energy from the sky. Very well concealed however, below that large antenna was an entrance, as if an elevator coming up from the ground, and disappearing inside it again. No-one could ever have imagined the more than hundred stories that where build below.
Science was reaping many of things in that odd structure, though it seemed mostly to have one, sole purpose. It was a research laboratory for military purposes and testing facility for said possible weapons. Of course medicine where something of interest as well, but on one of the very lowest levels of the structure deep within the earth was something, very much illegal. Through genetic research, manipulation and cloning, there where various creatures being bred, most of which had the sole purpose of becoming the new engines of war. Many of the scientists had only one goal in mind, create the strongest creature possible that could do the most of damage. Others had some different agenda’s on their research, some of which wanted to create creatures that could assassinate without mercy and perfect stealth, though all had their setbacks of course.
Only one amongst these maddest of scientists had a different agenda altogether. Though she did work on some monster like creatures to create, so she kept her place in the facility, her true purpose was to create something she viewed as beautiful and pure. The woman was the first to try and fuse, not only animal and insect DNA to create life, but that of the human race as well. Not just any from a sample tube, but her very own was one of the two samples she used to create what she would start to view as her very own child. The other she had selected from the feline species, a Serval it appeared. Since she as a little child had helped rescue and tame a wild specimen of the species. She had loved it indefinitely and was unfortunate to see her perish. She had kept the female serval’s DNA however, and made sure it was well preserved, and on this very night, she would try to create a child from the two.
The woman was a beautiful, proud and well-formed Native American, Grey hair with blue eyes. She had always had a beautiful dark gray, unlike any other would though most seemed to think she always colored her hair. She relentlessly kept trying however, to bond the two together, as her personal tribute to her beloved pet Serval. And finally, it was around midnight when she had a breakthrough, the two had finally managed to bond and created as if it were an egg that had been inseminated by a sperm. Carefully she placed the microscopic beginning of a creature in an artificial womb. Machines small and large in size that had been created for the sole purpose of growing and creating live, never seen before or otherwise unable to exist. The process was slow to say the least, but the induced growth and stimulation within the artificial womb would make the normal nine months turn to a mere two. Each and every day, every hour of her wake the female scientist kept on checking up on the little creature, slowly growing within the artificial womb.
She had to keep on working on the other projects as well however, but never seemed to truly design any of those, simply to make sure they were growing properly and stayed healthy. She didn’t agree, even the slightest with her fellow scientist’s views and believes, as it was the same with the company she worked for. Slowly with each passing day however, the small creature within the glass lightbulb like artificial womb was growing. Showing small progress with her growth each and every day. Slowly limbs where forming, as did the head, tail and ears did so too. Hair and fur had been growing already however, which was unlike what one would expect from a newborn. The woman had figured it to be a side effect of the induced growth process since there were no other irregularities. Finally, the day had arrived when the growth process was complete, and the new ‘mother’ couldn’t be any more excited than she already was.
Finally now the moment had arrived and the artificial womb was slowly draining. The little creature slowly flowing down while the fluids where drained away. A few minutes later the little, sleeping hybrid was within the woman’s arms and softly moved against her. A soft purr as she was being dried off and her mother couldn’t do anything to hide her love of the little creature in her arms. Gure was the name instantly given to her, the small little and first of human hybrids. Experiment X-0001 was the name given to her by the laboratory however, but wasn’t kept in a cage like the other creatures. Instead her ‘mother’ instantly brought her to her own sleeping quarters, almost as if it was a full-sized apartment with everything one would need. The researcher’s weren’t allowed to leave the facility after all. She had already prepared her place well for a young, newborn and placed the little Gure in a crib. She watched over her and cared for her, possibly even more than she ever could have thought to. The days went by normally however, Gure was brought with nearly everything the woman did in her daily routine, and was seemingly happy as a baby could be. Her mother couldn’t be any more loving of the little creature who enjoyed the slightest touch.
Years went on and Gure seemed to develop like any other human would, though with many of the feline traits she was given. She was far more flexible than any human, and held large, sensitive ears. Able to pick up sounds even the strongest of ‘’spy’’ tech couldn’t and could sneak around without any noise given. Her tail seemed ridiculously long however, more than twice that of her length while standing, even as she was now at the age of six. She was being tutored only by her ‘mother’ and knew of nothing else than she truly was the daughter in pure blood. Though that was only partially true, and she couldn’t seem to realize that the other scientists where trying to find out how Gure had been made. They started to see the potential of such a creature, and wanted to unlock her secrets. The woman was continuously harassed by her ‘’colleagues’’ to share those secrets of the ‘’ daughter’’.
Even though they tried and tried, no matter what the bonding never seemed to work out, experiments X-0002 throughout X-0499 where all failures and they had decided to stop for at least the moment. Though Gure did find it odd that she was the only one walking about with her appearance and abilities amongst the humans, she was happy simply being around her mother. Gure was a playful child, and loved above all else the soft scratches given to her little form. Something the woman hadn’t accounted for was that she had twice as many nerve endings as a human should have. Far more than those of a Serval as well. Just like the long tail it was something her mother researched and continued to monitor daily, but despite it being there, there was nothing off about it. The years continued on however, and Gure was thought about many a things one could hope in an education, though her mother had selectively kept things from the ‘’ program. ‘’ Electronics and technology seemed to interest Gure most of all, she had a strong point in math while being weaker in the verbal skills.
A possible side-effect that had been caused by the three different vocal cords within her throat. Like other cats, she had one for the normal mewling noises and roars even, and another for her purr. However her human speech vocal cord seemed to have difficulty at times, because all three took up a bit of space, more than a human was used to. Things like Biology however, and other things where her mother worked with where a Taboo when it came to learning. Until she was older, her mother thought she wouldn’t tell the little one about her true origins and designs. Despite that however, the little Gure learned rather little about her own figure, though even at the age of thirteen her mother had noticed she had never gotten her monthly ‘’problems’’ like she had herself. She figured it was like most felines with the process of repopulation, that she would have to go in ‘heat’ at certain times a year. Though still it only was a hypothesis at this point in time. However the resentment of the other scientists had grown over the years as still, they couldn’t ‘figure it out. How was Gure created they couldn’t understand, and finally gave up on trying to their selves. They couldn’t get their hands on Gure yet, and likely the woman wasn’t going to tell they figured and so they started to plot. Over a thousand other experiments had passed by in attempt to re-create Gure, or anything alike her for a good use.
They started to plot and decided to try and ‘persuade’ Gure’s mother to spill the secrets herself. Using Gure as a hostage and if not successful they could always resort to try and force the secrets out of Gure instead. That was what they preferred after all. A couple of days later, when most of the other scientists went to their actual homes and families in the weekend, they decided to make their move. It was in the middle of the night when they made their move and quickly busted through the door to their home and quite easily found both Gure, and her ‘mother’. They pulled the two into the living room where they shouted loudly, threatening with terrible curse words and unspeakable acts if she wouldn’t co-operate. Gure however was simply held down on the couch for now, though a few of the scientists had an odd glare while they looked at her barely dressed figure. Though some would find it odd that the thirteen year old had yet to develop any form of cleavage.
Her mother after all had quite the admirable bust. Despite the threats however, even to her own life and that of Gure, she wouldn’t tell them. She feared above all else what they would try to do with her research, and even if she perished, she knew they had to keep Gure alive in attempt to re-create her. The others grew furious however with her stubborn nature and finally gave up on trying to get the answer out of her. They shouted out to someone in the hallway as a loud, heavy footstep was heard. Four of them shortly after each other Gure noticed and couldn’t begin to imagine what horror would be brought inside. The final rest came to an abrupt end when a colossal, collared creature was brought into the living room. Growling and snarling though seemed trained somewhat. It was one of the earlier experiments Gure had seen in the lab before, quickly growing far beyond what she could imagine as the creature had been a genetic mutated growth from a lion, bear and wolf. Only one purpose it held, and that was simply to cause as much destruction as possible, in a slightly controlled manner.
They could aim said creature to a specific target, and get it to stop at will, but other than that it was pure, feral instincts and rage. They gave her one, final warning, and a threat to unleash the creature unless she told them the secrets, but she stood there proudly in her final moments and only said. ‘’ Never…’’ At that instant the men nodded at each other, and without remorse they unleased the beast. Gure’s eyes shot open, and started to struggle and squirm as much as she could. Watching the thundering paws make the entire apartment quake underneath it. She screamed out weakly in an utterly helpless manner and saw the determination in her mother’s eyes. She couldn’t understand it why she so desperately tried to keep said information from those, even at the cost of her very life. Just before she watched the beast started to brutally slaughter her beloved mother, she heard her speak up once more, her last words so to speak. ‘’ I love you Gure… Be strong…’’
She was so determined that even as the massive claws hit her figure, she didn’t even scream. Luckily for her, a second claw came about quickly, and managed to sever her spinal cord which caused for a quick, further painless death. However, Gure was left to watch, and forced to even as her mother’s remains where slaughtered in the most brutal manner one could think of. She had to watch those massive, blood stained claws rip through her mother’s flesh, tearing limb from limb till nothing but a bloody pile of flesh was left. And as if that wasn’t enough torment for the scarred little creature, she saw the massive beast began to devour her mother’s remains, simply because it was bored since it always was well fed. Tears where gushing over those little cheeks of hers as she couldn’t look anymore. She collapsed onto the floor with her hands grabbing hold of her head as she cried out.
Still crying and mourning the loss of her mother, Gure finally fell asleep. The growls, grunts and other noises of the creatures around her where soon to fall to deaf ears. She was too exhausted and completely passed out. Several hours later the lab was up and running again, the apartment Gure had been living in all her live had been refurnished for a new employee to move into. Management seemed to care little about the brutal murder, or even less about what one of their experiments, their property seemed to think. The scientists came however again to collect Gure, but left her in the cage. Transporting it over to the lab where she was put out on display. All the mad scientists she had gotten to know where now showing their true colors and wanted nothing more than to unravel her secrets. Unaware of her mother’s choices or methods even less, she was the only experiment that would ever work unless her mother would re-create one again.
Gure however, had been designed with the ability to reproduce, and such was luckily unaware to those scientists. They quickly started to take samples of her however, nails, hair but small bits of skin and blood even. Above anything else the little one was terrified of needles, always had been and the rough treatment she got from the men didn’t help her any more. It took a while till they had what they wanted, and gathered as much information as they could. However they too found out there was no way for them to repeat the process with their current knowledge on the matter. The only thing they could hope for, was that the little girl could reproduce on her own. With that idea in mind they placed her in a large tube like glass container, naked at that since the clothes would do no good in there.
Shivering in fear she watched from inside the tube and started to hyperventilate, fear filled little fists bounced against the thick glass, but nothing seemed to help aid her escape. After she almost calmed down however, she watched an odd, green gas’s started to fill the tube. The gasses quickly caused her lungs to fill and be absorbed in her system. Seeing as it was a strong anesthetic that quickly put the little creature into a deep, solid sleep. They had decided to keep her that way so it was easier to take samples from the little one if needed, and given food through an infusion into her bloodstream they didn’t need to keep her awake. They did keep her in an isolated area, just to be safe no-one would come looking for her who didn’t know of her existence to begin with. While trying countless more attempts to re-create someone like Gure she still was the only one after three years of experimentation. Though while being kept in an induced Coma, Gure’s body continued to grow and age. Despite that fact, it seemed the little one’s chest still continued to gain any form of growth.
Likely her feline genetics would keep her that way to keep her body in a better, air dynamic manner. Growth could still occur however, but it was likely only to happen if any pregnancy was induced. The little creature still asleep with her maturing body but something that day seemed a bit off. There was already some ruckuses downstairs at the very basement, and finally the building trembled lightly as one of the giant experiments had escaped. As if it was a dinosaur that had been bred in the laboratory could no longer be kept in the small cage, and as it fought its way outside, though unlikely to escape it tore through the power generators. It took about an halve hour after that however, before finally the anesthetics had worn off on Gure, and she finally started to wake up again. Murmuring weakly as she took her time to fully realize what was happening, and had happened to her. With fright rising again, unaware of how long she was asleep she began to struggle and escape.
She found some wires however behind a small panel she managed to get open, and started to fiddle around with it. She had always had quite a thing for electronics, and rather quickly managed to open the tube from within that way. The glass suddenly lifted up and she quickly escaped, finally breathing the air of freedom again. Quickly, while the scientists and security where focused on the monster break down below, Gure started to find her way to freedom. Moving about and quickly grabbing an excess lab coat to wear. She managed to get through unseen luckily, and found her way into the airduckts where she started to crawl and climb up. Slowly, level by level. Though she had to avoid the fan’s for they could easily cut through her, and made sure not to even get close. A few floors higher she managed to get before she couldn’t get any further in. Giving out a weak sigh in fright as she climbed out into a seemingly, empty laboratory room.
Though soon after she entered the room, the lights turned on and she gave out a soft, frightened squeak. Just that moment did the scientists seem to have returned to get to work again. They gazed in utter surprise at the sight of the little creature, and had no idea someone like that had been born in the structure. After all, each research department kept their secrets to them alone. Quickly they began to try and capture the little creature, who shot out and about to try and keep her freedom still. She escaped, or so she thought into a room where an odd, small container stood. Thinking it was something the scientists would value more than her, or at least hoped so she grabbed it and held it out in front of her. Threatening weakly to break the vile if they didn’t let her escape. For some reason they actually stopped and listened to her. She had not the slightest clue what she was holding, but it appeared to be a vile of the first, and so far only batch of self-sustaining nanobots. Enough to implant in thousands, since the nanobots where programmed to clone themselves from whatever waste tissue they could find.
She slowly managed to start moving towards the elevator, though the scientists carefully stayed close to try and make sure she didn’t still break the vile, though had also still intended to capture her of course. Gure was able to enter the elevator and try to close it when suddenly, from the other side of the room a gunshot was heard. The doors already closing but Gure fell down in pain, she had been shot in her stomach and was bleeding quite a bit. A shot wound, through and through luckily, but she fell down to the ground. As did the little vile however, and crashed to break just below her feet. It was as if a gas escaped the vile however, and slowly rose upwards, till it came into contact with Gure. Suddenly all of the gasses began to pull towards her body, and seemed as if her skin absorbed it all. But In reality it seemed that the nanobots had now found a host body to reside in. The lift quickly making its way upward to the final, upper floor, but meanwhile Gure was feeling the effects of the nanobots invading her system. Bonding with her and instantly got to work. They healed the gunshot wound in just a few moments, a minute at most before not even a scar was left behind.
She had no idea what had happened in those moments, but was given no time to think about it. When she reached the last stop of the elevator the surface. The lift came out of the ground it appeared from the outside, and showed the little creature quickly stumbling outside. Never having seen the world before in her life as she ran, as quickly as she ever could. She still hadn’t the slightest idea of what happened when the vile dropped, but something felt different, very much so but tried to ignore it. She had different things to worry about after all. She kept on running, without end to it as finally after miles and miles of forest, she came out into a clearing. Panting weakly and slowly trying to catch her breath she tried to determent where to go to from that point on, till she noticed a noise behind her. Looking back she saw death in the eyes as a large tank like truck was driving through the forest, which such speed and mass that even the tree’s standing in its ways, even those of hundreds of years old would perish before the mass that nearly effortlessly seemed to drive through.
She gave a loud, frightened scream and ran off as quick as she possibly could. Being chased by the security agents that where likely ordered to return her, dead or alive. She ran, quickly as she ever could but was already out of breath, the only hope she had was a large river up ahead and in sight. Tears falling from her eyes as she held now little hope, but the massive vehicle behind her was quickly gaining on her and had already made it out of the dense forest, leaving behind a trail of smashed trees. Definitely the truck of terror had been another creation of that dreadful laboratory. Her feet started to slip over the cold, wet grass and the muscles where aching all over, clearly affected by the long hibernation induced sleep, along with that she had grown for three years, but never got to use her new posture before now. The massive truck’s loud engine had no mercy as it grew louder and louder by every second, clearly those within where giving it full throttle, holding nothing back.
She could feel the heat of the machine now at her back, her tail already touched the metal for a short moment and gave herself everything to push her very limits. Only a couple hundred feet till she was in the water, and would be safe, the truck however not stopping. Fear overtook the little one at that moment and couldn’t run anymore as she slipped over the soft, wet grass and twisted her ankle. Causing her to fall down flat on the ground with a scream in utter terror, thinking her last moments had passed. To her own, utter surprise she noticed however the truck had quite a bit of space underneath still, and she was just barely small enough to have fit underneath, without being hit by the monster vehicle. However, the searing heat had left burn marks on the lab coat she wore, along with her sensitive skin. Wood splinters and pieces of tree fell from underneath the truck over and against the little creature that had managed to survive below before it finally passed over.
She could still stand up after realizing her fall had become her salvation and sprinted that last bit towards the water. The truck had managed to stop and turn around only a few feet in front of the river’s borders, but before it could charge again Gure had already passed it, and dove into the water. She left a small trail of blood however, from the splinters in her back and limbs, but she had escaped and was quickly going downstream. All she had to do was float. Feeling that while doing so, her back was healing up from the burns and splinters, soon left with no damages anymore as she simply continued to float while catching her breath still. The young hybrid continued to float for hours, till she noticed up ahead the lights of a city. There she slowly climbed ashore again and crawled onto the soft ground. Finding a small, quiet place where she could rest up for a little while. Once she felt safe enough, she fell asleep like brick and slept all night till after lunch. Slowly the little one started to wake up again, while the sun was at its highest, groaning faintly though felt good despite the events that had happened.
She got up and about again, and after a little bit of stretching she slowly made her way into the city, where she had no idea yet of what to do, but she had even less any idea of how to survive out in the wild. However, when she walked into the city, still in only that lab coat that she used to hide her body with, she started to get shocked, fearful and angry looks all around. She had no idea why however, till she suddenly heard a mother yell at her child, to get away from the monster. She looked around in fear quickly, to try and see if the scientists had come back again to try and take her, but she saw none. She didn’t realize it till too late that the humans where afraid of the unknown creature amongst their midst. A sudden, rotten tomato thrown to her head caused a loud squeak as she nearly tripped, followed clearly by the words ‘’ freak’’ and ‘’ monster. ‘’ Given she didn’t look normal, but that clearly damaged her mind as tears started to ball up under her eyes and she started to run again. Horrid name’s where shouted at the little creature who quickly started to fall in despair and found her way into a dark alleyway where she kept away from the humans for now.
Whimpers in fear where heard and quickly she tried to hide her feline appendages, even though she had no idea why they were so afraid of her. Though as history had taught, humans fear the unknown. She started to try and look around for food, water or anything, but only found garbage and simply wouldn’t allow herself to touch it. Though with a soft growl in her stomach and resentment towards the humans she peeked out of the alleyway again, seeing as it had gotten later and most humans now where inside again, she took to the streets. Running about a bit to avoid any contact and turned a corner. To her utter surprise, she fell to the ground after having bumped into two large, male figures and gave a frightened little whimper. Covering her head a little while afraid to look up. However, to her surprise it would appear she had stumbled against two police officers who looked as if they had seen a ghost. Staring at the girl before them before looking at each other and helped her up. She squeaked a little, but allowed their help as she got up again, trying to move away which they wouldn’t allow. She couldn’t be more surprised when they tried to calm her down in a gentle manner, to try and get her to the police station.
They tried to figure out what to do with her, though calmed her down slowly, making sure she was well covered and when they got there, a soft seat and some water and food. She ate it thankfully and started to talk, to explain where she came from and what had happened to her. Though they only heard about her own perspective on things, seeing as they still dealt with a thirteen year old in mind. They wouldn’t be able to track down the scientists or laboratory, simply because there was no way they could figure it out from her description alone, and was certain she wouldn’t want to come back to the horrid place again. After they heard everything it was already far past midnight again and they placed her into a holding cell so she was sure not to get harassed by others, and somewhere next morning those two police officers came to wake her up again.
They were kind and gentle, unlike most humans Gure had encountered and heard them say they found her a place to stay and get used to it all. She ate some and was given some proper clothes, somewhat more or less her size and made sure not to cover her ears or tail, as they needed to let people get used to the sight of her, if she ever where to fit in. Especially with a police escort not many dared even say a word at her as they walked her through the city. Almost as if showing her off a little, despite the frightened look she held on her appearance. They wanted her to build up at least the courage to walk around alone again and kept on walking for a few miles till finally they reached an old, but cozy diner. An elderly couple ran the place, along with a cook and a waitress.
They were rather surprised at the sight of the little Gure, despite what they had already been told before. After the first initial shock they greeted Gure friendly and gave her a warm welcome. The officers stayed around for a good meal, while explaining Gure what they had arranged. A place for her to work, learn and grow, along with a place to live for the moment. Gure had of course plenty to learn still and was suggested to take a place near the cook for the first couple of years. Learning to make meals that others would enjoy and pay for. Seeing the costumers actually enjoy it after a few, failed attempts caused her to smile happily and truly go for it. As the years slowly progressed the little being continued to slowly grow older and more experienced. Her cooking had leveled, if not surpassed the current cook’s abilities and had gotten a small, one room apartment of her own. She was happy, and that was all she asked for.
