Very nice Groenendael... (I had a Tervuren for about 9 months but he went back home to live with his breeders again due to some behavior issues.)

It's okay. We were sad because we WANTED to work with him and work it out, but the breeder had other plans and ultimately (we think) felt the dog had turned into too good of a show prospect to leave with us. The downfalls of a shared-ownership contract, sadly...

Ultimately he is better off with pastures and sheep. He was a VERY high-spirited boy and would have been a constant challenge to keep both entertained and in check.

I've had better luck with huskies anyway. Maybe I'm just not a herding breed person. :)

We also got a contract with the breeder, but that's about when we can't(or don't want to) keep the dog anymore, we should return him to the breeder, not the pound.

Yeah their such strong dogs and need attention 24/7. (at least devil does) His ultimate day would be with me outside all day, and fall asleep on my lap afterwards.

that's possible. although I really like the breed, I don't think I got what it takes to bring out the best of those dogs, where I live.
