Thanks! I'm not very happy with the result, because my finished drawing is not as good as the idea in my head. But I wanted to make her parents looks like a 1950s comic because this is how she remembers them. Since she will be kind of a rebel as adult, her parents will look extremely conventional and conservative in comparison.
This is a bit of a nostalgia kick for me. I used to have pet rats, when a neighbor in the apt next door moved out, all his damn roaches migrated through the walls over to our place. I used to turn the lights off in the kitchen and let my rats run loose, taking great pleasure at the crunchy nom-nom sounds in the dark as they would find and eat the roaches (and noisy-ass crickets) in the kitchen.
I had a similar experience with mice. Our next door neighbor was a crazy hoarder and his house was full of garbage. Eventually he got an infection and had a foot amputated because of all the filth and a crew came and cleaned his house. when that happened all the mice that lived in his place moved to ours... but my one-eye cat hunted them one by one and killed them all.
Every day I found one dead mouse in the living room until she got them all. I felt bad for the poor mice, but such is nature.
