Ask Aemi - My Little Pony
A love MLPFiM. Like.... LOVE it love it.
It took all the boring old princess tropes of my childhood and revamped it in crisp lines, bright colors, and insane amount of sweet innocence. Not a hidden dick joke to be found! No reliance on the usual lowbrow slapstick bullshit that so many cartoons have these days!
Just cute little ponies learning simple lessons while having good clean fun.
I can totally get into that. One episode and I feel like my brain is a little cleaner.
And come on. Fluttershy is fucking adorable. She had me at her first terrified squeak, all curled up in a little pink ball. I wanted to hold her and tell her everything was going to be ok. I made an inhuman noise at an ungodly high pitch and then immediately looked around to see if anyone heard the sound that somehow came out of my throat when I first saw her.
Sadly, people will fetishize anything. And I do mean ANYTHING.
Thus this sweet innocent show has become an article of hatred for millions. Watching it as an adult, you are labeled a child molester who fucks animals. It is almost more of an offense to collect pony dolls and wear a Rainbow Dash hoodie that it would be to murder someone by beating them to death with a sack of kittens. But you know what? I watch it anyways. I make MLP dolls. I collect the minifigs. I swap my extra minifigs with my adult male neighbor who in turn shares them with his other adult male friends, none of whom fuck animals or children and are all really decent guys with steady jobs and are just a delight to hang around.
Seriously. Tony? Shawn? Hot guy who's name slips my mind Shawn don't tell him I said he's hot unless he read this and found out anyways? Other guy I talked to like once and then can't even remember your name or general appearance anymore? You guys are epic. I love you.
Also, drawing myself as a male is easier and more rewarding than I thought.

actually, believe it or not, the age of the characters usually has nothing to do with it. They're cute critters with appeasing shapes. Most of the sexual bronies I know are more like 'dat ass is so tight!' rather than 'that little child is so sexy'. Since it's a children's show though, most people just assume bronies are pedophiles or attracted to young characters.
there isnt an actual age stated. they have their marks and theyre not in school anymore so in human terms theyre at LEAST 19. Getting your mark is kind of a right of passage that proves youre on your way to being grown up. You've found your purpose in life and can now work towards it. Getting out of school, I guess you're an adult for the most part. Granted there are ponies that are older than most of the town (the princesses and guards, for example, are much larger and more sturdily built whereas the mane 6 still have that youthful chub to them) but I think it's safe to say that they are all of age where you don't have to feel like a pedo for finding them cute.
The obvious exception are characters like the crusaders, where they are not only still in school but they still are blank flanks giving them a social status that lies somewhere between toddler and maybe a 14 year old. Clueless little kids stumbling their way through life as they try to learn responsibility and figure out where they belong.
Though if we go by social status and personality alone, most of the fully grown adults I know would still be considered children.
The obvious exception are characters like the crusaders, where they are not only still in school but they still are blank flanks giving them a social status that lies somewhere between toddler and maybe a 14 year old. Clueless little kids stumbling their way through life as they try to learn responsibility and figure out where they belong.
Though if we go by social status and personality alone, most of the fully grown adults I know would still be considered children.

and as for the job thing, only two of them have technical "jobs" persay, but they all fill very adult roles.
Rainbow Dash has on multiple occassions served as a mentor and someone to look up to for the charcter scootaloo, and has on many occassions saved the wonderbolts (basically equestrian Blue Angels)
Fluttershy is an animal expert, so I guess you could call her Ponyville's vet?
Twlight, even before *spoiler in case you wanna watch the show* happened, had a very important role in being Celestia's best student.
Pinkie Pie helps the Cakes run their bakery, as well as keeping quite literally EVERYONE in town happy.
