The SIPA 90 was a French light civilian aeroplane produced from 1948 to the early 50s. Designed in the immediate post-war years by the French Yves Gardan for the Société Industrielle Pour l'Aéronautique (SIPA), the first prototype flew on 15 May 1947, it won the competition launched by the government for a training aircraft for the civilian aero clubs which had their former aircrafts either destroyed by the allied bombings or flightless because of their inactivity during the war. At the end of the production, the society counted 113 examples built and flown in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and in the UK and at the begining of the XXIth century, 15 remained airworthy in the UK, in Switzerland and in France.
