I finally got around to painting Denece's new design! I did the sketch over a month ago and finally got around to painting it. This went through quite a few changes, I at first wanted to do a snowy cold scene dominated by blues, but then the idea of a sunset appealed to me more. The next idea was a sunset dominated by reds, pinks, violets and blues but the colors didn't work together and finally I settled on golden colors with some soft pastel purples. I was going for a surreal dreamy feel and I think I did a pretty good job. :D Denece is going through some major reworking. Design wise I turned her into a bobcat since that was what she atomically resembled most. (and I love bobcats) I'll miss her big fluffy tail, but other than that I love her design. :) Her backstory is getting a revamp, which does't effect all you guys since I never told you guys her backstory. :XD: But I'm getting rid of her siblings, and building a stronger relationship with her parents whom I'm finally fleshing out.
My painting abilities are getting better! I'm really proud of the result. (need to work on color and light and values.....) Being a perfectionist I can find nit picky rings to fix. But I am overall really happy. I'm especially happy with the background. It was a long struggle but I think I finally succeeded in creating the mood I wanted. This took forever, 30+ hours of work and reworking.
