Very few places are safe from Hellfarch's reach, the absolute least of which is out in the open. While he sets his sights on pursuing and capturing only one person at a time, that doesn't stop him from having fun with anyone and everyone who crosses his path along the way. One unfortunate soul is about to learn this the hard way.
This picture marks my first foray into somewhat-detailed texture work, and I'm pretty chuffed with how much I've learned so far! The right normal map can make a character go from looking like plastic to feeling alive and real, and though I'm not even close to that I think I'm going in the right direction. I'm also getting a lot better at working with Renderman and reducing the number of errors and artifacts in my pictures before I spend two friggen hours rendering them out.
The rat character was created by our wonderful resident Macro Micro Maya Monarch,
cantstopgrowing, who has made it available for download for Maya users here. It was a lot of fun playing with him and seeing how his rig was constructed. Hopefully I can glean from it some ways to improve Hellfarch's own rig, although adding something like all of the many, MANY growth controls is far beyond my capabilities.
