On a recent 12 hour solo hike, I discovered a bog at the north end of Marion/Jacobs Lake (it has two names), full of sundews. They're only about 2cm tall, and this time of year, bright red.

They're common around the south coast of British Columbia, anywhere in extremely damp, boggy land surrounding lakes and streams. Most of our bogs are hidden though, so you have to be willing to trek through the bush to find them, generally up on mountainous plateaus, or deep within rainforest jungle.
