The Past Life of an Elderly Bird
“Oh, such a beautiful baby” Mother Bird said to her brand new son. The baby cried to be fed, so the mother went and fed him. “He’ll grow up to be so successful and rich…”
Throughout his childhood, he did nothing but rest in his nest and waits for food, which the trustful mother always obliged. He hardly got any exercise besides flying across the forest a few times.
When he reached the age of adulthood, he decided to leave his mother once and for all, which is exactly what he did. He flew far, far away, and he never saw his mother again.
And what did he do during his adult years? Well, he got a boring office job because he decided not to go to college. From age 20 to age 65 he worked and worked. He never went on vacation, or even went out of his state.
By this time he wed and had kids and grandkids. One morning the grandkids asked Grandfather Bird: “Hey, grandpa! What was your life like?” Grandfather Bird opened his beak, but nothing could come out. He hung his head down in sadness.
Extremely obvious moral: Live life to the fullest, and do things you want to do.
My first Aesop, it kinda sucks, I know.
