Honestly I don't know, as this was a commission I did of an OC with a set design. I imagine he uses a mix of both hexapodal and quadripodal walking, based on whether or not he needs to use his hands. Funny that you mention it's similar to my centaurs, because this was actually drawn a few years before I made those-- I'm new here, and I haven't really been stocking my gallery in chronological order ;o;
Ah well welcome to FA and feel free to post any pieces you've done as many of the pieces in your gallery, not just your insectoids, are quite good. And that does make sense on his ability to switch between hexapodal and quadrupedal based on his needs from the design of his hands and upper arms/forward limbs.
