Coloured version of Kaynine's sketch, used with permission, that you can find here: [http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20350495/] Normally I'd just gawk at his pics, but this time I felt I could work on it and give it more life than being just a "random scaly". :D

Oodles of thanks to Kaynine [http://kaynine85.deviantart.com/] for the great formwork; I was very happy to have made something out of them. This temporarily brought me out of the current art slump, and might point to an okay future in colouring. Yay. :giggle:

DracoWong [http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/dracowong/] also coloured the sketch in this piece:[http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/21349715/] It makes for an interesting example of different approaches to the same work.

Took about 7 hours. Used PhotoShop 7 for the layer compositing, the very interesting ArtRage [http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html] for background, then Wings' "Hukum Karma" and some Shoji Meguro playing in the background. I would've done this in Painter, but it's been acting uber-strange and I won't risk a program crash in the middle of doing this.

This one is of the River Crocodiles clan, who
are merciless and swift in defending their
tribe of crocodile-men. He abandons the use
of his eyesight in favour of reptilian instincts
and special senses. He wears red gems made from
the blood of the great Mother Crocodile, queen
of still waters.
