“I should really start looking for a job.” The question burned in his mind. He didn’t know what place would hire him with only a high school education, but he was more than determined to make it on his own. He had to. He went to countless businesses, submitting as many applications he could get his paws on. He sat in a small coffee shop named Marty’s Café, looking through newspapers and numerous help wanted ads. He drank a black coffee, the liquid soothing him and his wracked nerves. He picked up his red pen, circling yet another ad that seemed like a good possibility. He rubbed his temples as he felt another migraine setting in. “What the hell am I doing with my life?” He whispered to himself.
