Ahn, well, it tangles if I leave it in a loose ponytail (as well as blows in my face if there's a so much as breeze), so actually, braiding it is the best way to keep knots and tangles from occuring at all (since a braid itself is technically kind of a knot, securing the hair in place). And it's not really apparent in the picture, but the only thing 'fastening' it all together is a single, thin, black hairband at the bottom, so I don't have to tie any knots or such.
Shampoo? Y'wanna know for shine, or for anti-tangle? Shine, for the most part is gonna be biology (age, hormone levels, genetics, ect), and tangle; use conditioner to keep hair smooth (less friction, less snags).
But if you're really curious about what I use: I don't swear by any brands or types. Currently my shampoo iiiissssss... *runs to shower to check* L'oriel shampoo, and Pantine Pro-V conditioner, then I just brush it all out after I shower.
Hope that helps. ^_^
